Feature guide

After you sign in as an IPA Harbor admin, the main nav shows Search, Purchased apps (requires Apple ID sign-in), Download Manager, and Settings. If no Apple ID is bound, the UI prompts you to open Apple ID sign-in.

Admin entry (first visit or recovery)

PathPurpose
/setupFirst visit on a new container: create the admin account
/loginAdmin sign-in (password / Passkey); use Forgot password? Admin recovery for /recover
/recoverReset admin password when ADMIN_RECOVERY_ENABLED is set — Forgot admin password

See Admin (Setup, Passkey, Settings).

Search the App Store from Home (region follows Settings). Open an app for versions and metadata; screenshots appear when enabled in Settings. Pick a version to enqueue a download.

Purchased apps (/purchases)

After Apple ID sign-in, lists apps owned by the account. Meet the prerequisites in Apple ID login troubleshooting first.

Download Manager (/dl)

Active and completed tasks; progress updates over WebSocket while a task runs. Downloads started from app details appear here.

For OTA install, download with ipatool v2.6.0+ (why).

Settings (/settings)

Admin options, Apple ID status, OTA toggle, Passkeys, LAN HTTPS, version and update checks — see Admin — Settings.

Apple ID sign-in (/apple-id)

Bind the Apple ID used by ipatool (separate from admin login). See Apple ID login troubleshooting.

LAN CA (/lan-ca)

When auto-cert (LAN HTTPS) is enabled, a guide page to trust the self-signed CA on iPhone/iPad. No admin login required.

Add to Home Screen

On iPhone or iPad in Safari, you can add IPA Harbor to the Home Screen and open it like an app for a more immersive experience (standalone display: dedicated top/bottom chrome, closer to a native app).

Where to find it: open Settings, use the Add to Home Screen card, then View instructions — the same step-by-step guide as in the UI. The LAN HTTPS section also offers this guide when relevant.

Safari outline (see the in-app guide for details):

  1. Open Safari on iPhone and go to your IPA Harbor URL.
  2. Tap Share (or … when the tab bar is at the bottom or top).
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen; if it is missing, add it via Edit Actions at the bottom of the list.
  4. Turn on Open as Web App, then tap Add.

The icon appears on the Home Screen; tap it to launch IPA Harbor in standalone mode. Exit like any other app.

Tips

  • One Apple ID per container — Requirements
  • First Apple ID login may be slow — see Apple ID doc above
  • Rate limit: /v1/ APIs, 100 req/min per IP
